SERVICES

These are where we can help

Filling

One of the most common reasons why our patients visit us is tooth filling. Unfortunately, tooth decay and its improper handling mean an increasingly common problem. We at Hollan Dent use exclusively the most up-to-date procedures that are not only safe but also durable.

Of course, we are committed to prevention and continuous control, since the removing and filling a minor caries is much easier and faster and also less painful than performing a root canal treatment.

Root Canal Treatment

The root canal treatment is intended to enable the remaining unharmed dental substance and the tooth root to be used by eliminating the infection developed, thereby restoring the function and esthetic of the tooth. Starting a root canal treatment is the first step, that means widening and cleansing of the root canal. After a root canal treatment, the root treated tooth loses its vascular formula that has been supplying it with blood, thereby, it may dry out and the root canal may crack easily, and later it may also break. When the root canal is widened, it shall be filled, thereby reducing the risk of root breakage. Root canal treatment takes much time, for it is a very precise job that our dentists carry out with the greatest skill and attention. This could take up to 3-4 visits. Incisors have one root canal, however, molars may have as much as four, meaning that an area four times bigger shall be saved from bacteria. These teeth can be accessed much harder, but it is all the more important to keep them, because without them, chewing becomes impossible, therefore, feeding may also become a problem. In the long term, this could also lead to additional health problems.

Groove Closure

The purpose of groove closure is to close the hard-to-clean grooves on the chewing surface of molars and to make them inaccessible to bacteria and impurities, preventing the caries in the teeth.

Kofferdam Filling

Helps completely isolate the tooth under treatment from the rest of the mouth. This is a small rubber mattress pad fitted to the mouth. When punched at the right place, it only surrounds the teeth to be treated, separating it from the rest of the mouth. The importance of its use varies from treatment to treatment.

Veneer

Ceramic veneers are excellent for correcting the shape, size or color of the teeth. If enough enamel is available to properly fix the veneer to, and there is no major difference in color or biting position, there is no obstacle to preparing the veneers.

Sinus Sealing

In sealing the sinus, tiny incisions are made to the gum in the place of the extracted tooth, forming a lobe by stretching it, then merging them above the lesion by a suture. Thus, we can separate the face cavity and the mouth cavity from each other. Suture is normally removed after 2 weeks.

Zircon Crown

The dental fittings thus prepared contains no metal, each of its layers is tooth colored. This kind of denture perfectly imitates the layers and the natural translucency of your own teeth; therefore these tooth dentures are flawlessly esthetic, and moreover, highly durable.

Dental Architecture with factory or fiber optic post

Often happens that the majority of the tooth crown is damaged or missing, so it can no longer be replaced directly by a filling or a crown. In this case, the tooth is fixed by a post – a titanium or fiber optic post is bonded into the root canal –, which the crown can be firmly built onto and can be beautifully restored into its original shape.

Ultrasonic Plaque Removal

The ultrasonic plaque remover is a small, thin-pointed tool that reaches all surfaces of the tooth and can remove the plaque from the interdental areas. In most cases, the patient feels nothing during the ultrasonic plaque removal, it is a painless operation. After removing the plaques, it is very important to polish the teeth using a special high-quality polishing paste. Polishing will make the surface of the teeth extremely smooth, therefore, it is much more difficult for dental residue to adhere to your teeth.

Implant

Dental implant implantation is a dental intervention in which the oral surgeon implants an implant in place of the lost tooth. Today, implantology has become a routine procedure of dental rehabilitation.

You may need dental implant if:

  • you want a more stable solution instead of a removable denture
  • you do not want to have your sound teeth abraded
  • you want to enjoy the benefits of a full dentition again
  • you want to restore the lost chewing function, so that eating does not cause any more difficulty

Bone Grafting

The most common causes requiring bone grafting are:

  • a regenerative surgical repair of periodontally affected teeth
  • insertion of a dental implant in a place without adequate quantity of bone

After the removal of a tooth, the atrophy of inactive bony substance not holding any teeth comes about, both its height and its width decreases. If a previously removed tooth is to be replaced with an implant, there is a high chance a bone replacement will be needed in the area of intervention.

Wax Up Smile Design

Wax Up is made from an imprint, the dentist will abrade the gypsum teeth to stumps, and will send that casting to the technician lab where the future crown and bridge are molded from wax. This wax is also a very helpful tool for the patient, as they can see how the final denture would be, and it also provides information to the dentist for the abrasion and the need for space. Together with the patient, the wax model can be corrected until it becomes satisfactory, and the work starts only afterwards, knowing precisely the patient’s needs and demands.

Digital Smile Design

Digital smile design is done applying a special medical software. The great advantage of this service is that the patient and the doctor can jointly design and anticipate the final result. This means that, at the design stage, patients have the opportunity to adjust the final result according to their own preferences and ideas. The design covers every small detail, whether it is the reconstruction of an original smile or a smile that is different from the original one. One of its major advantages is therefore that the patient can be shown the expected outcome of the treatment, i.e. they can see their future smile before starting the treatment.

Periodontological Curette

With an inadequate oral hygiene, the residue and the colony of bacteria colonizing the areas hard to clean will turn into plaques, leading to gum inflammation, or bleeding, swollen gums and periodontal diseases. Dental residues, plaque and bacteria penetrate deep, causing the bone to decay. In the absence of an intervention, the tooth will loosen and fall out. To stop this damaging process, the gums around the tooth, the bone and its surface under the gum shall be cleaned off. This intervention is called a curette. Depending on the severity and depth of the disease, a closed or an open curette shall be made.

Periodontal Status

Periodontal disease or periodontitis (incorrectly: periodontosis) is now considered a widespread disease, affecting almost 40% of people. Periodontal disease (periodontitis) is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting the stable fixation of teeth in the jawbone. Measuring the depth of the sachet and the bone level is essential for the diagnosis of periodontitis.

The examination is carried out by periodontic specialists or periodontal probe: at six points beside each tooth, the depth of the sachet to millimeter-level precision. In a healthy periodontium, the depth of the sachet shall not exceed 3 mm, but if this depth exceeds 4 mm, a dental disease is suspected.

In our clinic, we use the internationally approved standards-based system to record the examination of the periodontium.

Metal Ceramic Crown

The core of the metal ceramic crown is made up of a metal frame, where the natural porcelain veneer is applied as a layer.

The metal frame material can vary from simpler metal to nickel-free anti-allergenic metal to gold alloy.

Air-flow

Airflow, i.e. dental cleaning by sanding is normally used as an additional treatment after ultrasonic plaque removal, but it can also be used as a separate treatment if only minor discolorations are to be removed. Airflow sanding method effectively removes small particles of plaque and any built-up of discoloration that may remain on the teeth and are invisible to the naked eye. The advantage of using sanding is that it cleans the teeth very gently but very effectively from surface build-ups and discoloration.

Tooth Whitening at Home

Tooth whitening at home and preparing the bleaching rail requires an exactly fitting impression made of the teeth, leading to the preparation of a soft plastic rail and made in the dental lab that fits precisely.  It is very important to fit the rail correctly, as the gelatin shall only come into contact with the teeth, but not the gum. The whitening gel shall be inserted into this flexible rail and shall be placed onto the denture. It is advisable to use it at night, as it is important that it remains in place for at least 3-4 hours.

 LED-light tooth whitening

Teeth whitened by a LED light. Special peroxide-free gel is applied to the surface of your teeth, then activated by LED light. The process guarantees intensive whitening in a short time and you will be able to cross the dentistry’s door with teeth 3 to 5 shades whiter. And you can enjoy the final result for up to 1 or even 2 years.

Medicated underlining

The aim of the underlining is to provide a good basis for dental filling. In addition, it seals and blocks the dentine, if necessary. Very deep caries requires the application of medicated underlining. Medicated underlining seals on the one hand, on the other, it helps the dental tissue regenerate.
